That said, it is a lovely pattern, from Tin Can Knits, called Antler, because the cables look like antlers. It is available as a free download and has sizes from baby to large adult.

Hat For Andrew
This hat is on its way to Ontario to my brother, for his birthday. What a saga...I will not reveal how many times I ripped it back into the ribbing. All operator error...I misread the pattern, and then once I'd got that figured out, made some silly errors that I could not recover from (I have no idea how to re-knit a cable I have ripped out because I am not very good!).

The yarn I used is Delave Superwash, and the colour reminded me of Black Watch tartan, knitted up. (It's darker than the photo looks).

It's gorgeous Alane! And congrats on getting it done on time. Haven't seen the Delave knit up, looks pretty good, I think.
