Kim's Butterfly Dress

What a beautiful butterfly dress - Kim's grand-daughter is a very lucky girl!  A challenging pattern was made even more challenging by some of the yarn being discontinued.  Kim is not one to give up though.  Her persistence certainly paid off....it's gorgeous Kim!  Congrats.

Dressing Joann Up

The versatile BroomeBeanie as a dress on Joann.  She came in perfectly dressed for modeling. Ta-Da!

And the BroomeBeanie as hat/cowl on Joann.  Doesn't she look cute? (yes, we are easily amused...)

Another Adorable Dress

Another beautiful dress for a little girl, this one crocheted by a customer who is going to line it with satin.  Crocheted in 100% bamboo,  there's a very springy feeling to this piece of wearable artwork.  There's another one in the works using the orange for the main colour and variegated for the trim.  You will be able to buy one of these precious dresses, probably at a stall this summer.

Moyra's Little Dress

Isn't this adorable? But how big is it? It's hard to tell...

It's this big! And twice as adorable on this little cutie. Great-Grandma Moyra knit the dress for baby Fiona. Lucky girl. Moyra made it using Venezia 100% cotton Circulo. 

Moyra's Baby Dress

Here is Moyra's beginning of a 100% cotton dress for a baby. She had to finish this by Sunday. Let's hope she made it. She was well on her way earlier in the week.  A nice hand to this yarn and springy colours.

Dianne's Cute Kids' Dresses

And while we're on 'brilliant'... how's this??  Baby dresses for a 3 year old and an about-to-be-born little girl, a gift from Dianne.  This was Carola's recommendation for colour combinations and Dianne was reluctant but went with it and is VERY VERY pleased.  So are we.  Believe the yarn was Debbie Bliss Eco-cotton.....so cute! Not to mention well put together....I am looking at the matching up of the stripes on the seam in the left lower corner.....

Pat's Dress

Pat's extremely lucky granddaughter will be receiving this spectacular dress, knit with Malabrigo Rios (superwash)  It turned out beautifully, and is soft too.  It's a pattern Pat got from somewhere out there on the Interwebs, and she offered to give Roisin a copy. Roisin said 'No!"

The reason being that even Roisin balked......a complicated, difficult pattern.  Pat was definitely up to it, but it used quite different terminology than we're used to, and short rows decreasing on the shoulders (which shaped well) but this was not a challenge that Roisin would recommend to any but the 'like to knit with difficult patterns' expert knitter diehards.

Where Were the Knitted Evening Gowns?

Perhaps you watch the Academy Awards. Perhaps you scour the web for pictures of the dresses worn. Maybe both! But have you wondered why none of the gowns are knitted? Cast your eyes on this ensemble from the 1930s.

Leftover Frilly Fluffy Scarf Yarn?

  Well, you may not have any leftovers, as these yarns seem to be in high demand and therefore short supply, but *if* you have leftovers, look what Roisin did with Ripple Scarf Yarn. What Baby Diva would not love this Frilly Fluffy Dress? Rosin used circular needles, and the pattern can be purchased at the store. Oh, and how about a matching scarf?
