Nigel's Birthday Christmas Socks

I gave my pal Nigel the yarn for these socks (am forgetting what it was...a German yarn, with aloe in it)  for his birthday in October, and this afternoon he sent me these photos of the finished socks which he will wear to the Christmas Eve festivities in Puerto Vallarta, where he and Geordie are spending the winter. (I'm not a sock knitter, but that heel looks really nicely done to me...)

He thoughtfully sent photos of the rest of his ensemble so we could see how well the colours of the socks go with his pale orange shorts,

And with the green bird-of-paradise flowered shirt.

It's a wonderful outfit!

The yarn you gave me for these socks is OnLIne Supersocke 100 Wellness III - Color, 100 grams, 420 meters with Aloe Vera, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E. And there was plenty in the ball for a pair of men's socks - 105 inch foot, 80 stitches on 2.0 mm needles. (The yarn is fine, and a 2.25 mm needle seemed even too big - lots of stitches, but lots of yarn available to make them too.) I'm looking forward to wearing my birthday socks at Christmas.

Love the way this yarn striped. Perfect match for the outfit too. Way to go Nigel!
Best Ho Ho Ho wishes to you and yours this season.

Looking closely at those heels - must learn how to do that. Maybe when Nigel returns from sunnier climes he'll visit us and do a 'heel specialist' workshop??
