A Knitting King

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the yarns are so delightful
And since we've got a place to go,
Let us go, let us go, to GBO....W"
(Apologies to lyricist Sammy Cahn who wrote "Let It Snow" in 1945)

The weather in Powell River is not really frightful, as it is in southern Ontario where a major ice storm leaves hundreds of thousands of people without power, watching their trees break under the weight of ice. No, we are blessed.

And look at this! GBOW was recently blessed by a visit from a King. Here is Powell River Kings player Ryan Scarfo, modeling his special hat knit by Gina (see the number 13?) and holding two cowls HE has knit for Christmas gifts. Well, and was he not destined to, with the surname Scarfo? Gina taught him to knit and now has more members of the Kings wanting lessons.  They're good with hockey sticks and knitting needles.
