Kate's Elf Booties

Our young knitter Kate is making 7 league steps forward in her knitting skills.  These elf boots (yes, we know there's only one in the photo) are for a lucky 3 year old who will have twinkly fluffy toes.

Dee Starts Booties

Dee's grandson-to-be is getting a special pair of booties knit-by-Grandma-in-waiting-and-loving-anticipation. No wonder she is paying such close attention.
He'll be swaddled and cozied in Grandma's knitting through his first winter.

Lynda's Wee Felted Shoes

Lynda has been home sick but has been keeping busy. These little shoes have to be seen to be appreciated (although they look really cute here), made with felted mohair and arauncania.  Lynda has taken them home to put leather soles on them.  Very chunky little shoesies!

And yet another pair. These are felted Malabrigo....the best ever. Adorable.

More Blue - Jen's Mum's Work

Here is one of a pair of beautiful booties for a child, and they streeetch...made with Jewel Tones Chunky Marble by Jen's Mum (Roisin admits she has forgotten Jen's mum's name...not a good name day yesterday, apparently).

Jen's Mum made this hat too, not for Jen (but it could be).

All Things Bright & Beautiful

The first of the first of the first!  First batch of hand-dyed GBOW sock yarn by Danika. Carola's booties are the first anything knitted with it.  Such rich colours.

Yes, we did show you several photos this morning of one bootie, but here are the pair, completed. SO cute!

If you want some of this exclusive, not-available-anywhere-else yarn, hurry on in...there are only 8 or so skeins in this dye-lot.

Our Very Own Hand-dyed Yarn

These are the very first booties (maybe the very first items?) made with the very first batch of Danika's Specialty Hand-Dyed exclusive GBOW Sock Yarn, by Carola.

Absolutely amazingly fantastically gorgeolicious .

I Can Has Booties?

These booties of Marlaine's are so darned cute, it makes me feel all LOL Cats (do not visit this web site unless you have plenty of time to waste spare).

Marlaine will teach you how to make them in 2 classes...the first one is Sat. Oct 27th, 1-4 pm, in the Loopy Lounge. Please call the store to register.

The description of the class is below the photo--had to put the booties in first!

In this four hour class (first one is 3 hours, second one is one hour), you will get most of the way through one of these adorable little baby shoes.  You should be at least a confident beginner knitter.  You will learn to pick up stitches at the edges of a piece that you've knit, shape the toe, create the holes that the ties go through and crochet the tie.  There is no sewing to be done as they are knit all in one piece.

Make them tiny (0-3 month size) with 50g of sock wool and a set of 2.75mm double pointed needles or make them bigger (6-12 month size) with one 50g ball of Sirdar Crofter and a set of 3.75 double pointed needles.

Bet you can't make just ONE pair!!

Booties Workshop?

Bootie in progress by Marlaine. These ones have a great shape.  Made with Sirdar Baby Crofter, 100% not wool (55% Nylon, 45% Acrylic). This yarn is very soft and knits up with the Fair Isle colour effect as you go,  as you can see in the photo.

Marlaine will offer a one day workshop for these booties.  Get in touch with us at the store if you're interested.

Berry, Berry Beautiful

Oh, oh, oh! These are gorgeous! Fit for an elf princess!  Gaze upon Lynda's Knitted Felted Baby Booties, for the Blackberry Festival - the leaves were felted and added with blanket stitch - truly a work of art!

Here is a back view, with the tie in the back.

Special Booties

Special Malabrigo booties for a special baby. Do you know one?

Marlaine (she who is multilingual in the ways of creating things with yarn) knit these and they match adult socks she also made. As we've said before, what a great mum/baby gift!

Ruth's creation: a crochet cowboy set for a newborn.  No pattern, and she had a lot of fun making it!  See what happens when you hang out in the Loopy Lounge?
You just start making things....

The amazing Lynda made these really cute, felted baby slippers with Malabrigo, Seleccion Privida from Uruguay. Spanish rolls off the tongue so smoothly...and the yarn is soooo soft!
