Diane's Fabulous Cowichan-Style Vests
Yes, plural, as in several. It looks like an entire generation of Diane's family received beautiful, unique Cowichan Style vests. She sent the photo to Roisin along with this comment:
"Well you can now see where all of the Cowichan wool went to...." Indeed!

These Purses....Are Amazing
Sonia made this words-can't-describe gift for her Mum for Christmas.
Felted, lined and needle felted, looking like a painting masquerading as a purse....just amazing! We would love to know if Sonia's mum will use it or frame it! A one-of-a-kind, but....

This gorgeous red felted handbag by Sonia is at GBOW for sale. It is also felted, lined and totally amazing and reasonably priced for the work of art it is. You can view it at the store...prepare to be awestruck.

Free Pattern From Tin Can Knits
Kevin spotted this offer and shared on Facebook with the Powell River Yarn and Fiber group. Roisin and I were fortunate to have the GBOW table right next to Gourmet Crafter the yarn dying business run by Alexa (one half of Tin Can Knits) so she had lots of nice yarn, but she also had copies of the Pacific Knits book (referred to below) and examples of some of the items in the book. One of the great things about Alexa and Emily's patterns are they sized from babies to big men.
Alexa and another Emily (she is often a model for Alexa and Emily, is on the cover of Great White North, and is a knitter also) were great neighbours...and Tin Can Knits has terrific patterns, so check this offer out! And as you're browsing the patterns, take time to read the descriptions. They are often funny.

Great Shower Gift Idea
Marlaine made these parent and child socks. What a great gift idea for new mums and babies--or dads and babies! Maybe a little more fun for all than the traditional knitted layette. Grandmas and Grandmas-to-be, get those knitting needles out!
Marlaine used Punta Merisock, handpainted, from Uruguay.
