Nigel's Sweater Story

In the spring, Nigel came from Vancouver and taught a sock class at GBOW. In exchange, Roisin gave him some yarn. Here's what happened to it. (and in the very far right and left corners of the photo you can see just a bit of the socks Nigel knit also with yarn from GBOW!)

I wanted to share a photo of the sweater I knit with the yarn I received from Roisin when I taught the sock heel class. I made the sweater for NaKniSweMo  (National Knit a Sweater Month) which is run in conjunction with NaNoWriM0 (National Novel Writing Month). I didn't write the novel but did do the sweater. The goal was to knit at least 50,000 stitches (since the other goal is 50,000 words). My sweater came in at 73,047 sts - well above the goal.

The design is the St. Denis Cardigan by Veronik Avery - a free pattern on the Classic Elite website.

And I started with a completely different sweater design on Nov. 2 - knit on it until November 10 then ripped it all out - 42,000 plus stitches. Started the second sweater attempt on November 11, and finished it last night (November 26). So in fact my total stitch count was 115,047 - which is obviously equal to two novels!
